WEAVERVILLE — November 2, 2026. California State Parks lists Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park’s visitor center and grounds as open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with guided temple tours.
Tour schedule
The state’s current visitor page lists guided tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Availability, staffing and admission arrangements can vary; contact the park at 530-623-5284 before a special trip.
A site with more than a century of history
The temple known as the ‘Temple of the Forest Beneath the Clouds’ was built in 1874 and is among the best-preserved Chinese religious and cultural sites in California’s Gold Rush region.
Visitor rules
State Parks says dogs may be present only in the parking lot, not throughout the historical grounds. The museum and interpretive exhibits have site-specific access rules, so the park website should be checked for changes.
